Abstract: Knowledge has become the key driving force in the present day. Gone are the days when organizations were reluctant and complacent in sharing of information and knowledge. Knowledge portals are used as tools for implementing a knowledge management methodology. This paper discusses the role of Knowledge Portals and other tools and technologies which act as platform to bring people together to share knowledge in the form of expertise, competencies and skills in the field of library and information science.
