| Abstract: | The Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) is a collaborative effort that provides an application- independent interoperability framework based on Metadata Harvesting. Though the OAI-PMH is a very recent development it is being regarded as an important step towards information discovery in the digital library arena. This paper looks into the issues leading to its development as well as gives an inside view of the proposed model. |
