dc.description.abstractSpecial library acts as a disseminator of information, While disseminating the information manually, the special library has to face various short comes. In short, the day has come for traditional library to be a modern one. The opportunity is coming for the special library, because the computer technology, networking, communication and information processing is advancing and can provide efficiency, accuracy and speed for delivering library and information services. In this paper, the issue of computer application in the special libraries of Baroda (Gujarat, India) has been discussed in detail. It was the first effort by the author to study the technology applications to handle information activities at various levels in the special libraries of Baroda. Author has also identified main problems such as : effective management, lack of suitable manpower etc.en_US
