Abstract: | Digital curation involves maintaining, preserving and adding value to digital research data throughout its life cycle. It emphasizes on long term preservation and persistent access. Care should be taken for data security, integrity and fair use. Digital data degrades more quickly than paper documents. As such, curation is not a one-time preservation process but a perpetual one. The paper discusses the role of library professionals and the challenges they are to confront in digital data preservation process. |
