Digitization of Dissertations and Other Collections of Department Library (DLIS-A.M.U) using Greenstone

Abstract

A digital library is a highly organized collection of electronic resources. The digital libraries provide the required documents directly to the users on the screen enabling the user to interact with digital information. The digital libraries enable persons from different sections of the society in accessing different kind of digital information and knowledge resources for different purposes. This paper presents the efforts made by the authors in digitization of database of bibliographic information and abstracts of the dissertations submitted in the department of Library & Information Science and bound volumes of the journals for the perusal of teachers, research scholars and the students.
