dc.description.abstractThe Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have impacted the libraries all over the world including those in developing countries such as Sri Lanka. The paper presents overall scenario use of ICT in Sri Lanka and particularly in libraries. Author argues that, National Information Policy and National Information Infrastructure is essential, if a country would like to exploit the IT to its advantage. A brief account of automation of libraries is also presented in this paper. At the end, challenges faced by the libraries its Sri Lanka have been listed.en_US
