Abstract: Many observers have praised the Internet for its omnipresent nature and argued that this global medium is revolutionizing the nature of modern communications. The rise of the internet, is challenging the telecom infrastructure, management and accessibility in India. Telecom in developing countries faces a distinct challenge as compared to developed countries. As the Internet continues to grow, questions of accessibility and infrastructure equity persist. This paper provides an overview of the developments in telecommunications and networking in India.
