Title: Status of Indian Research Data Repositories: A Study based on Research Data Registry
Authors: Wadhwa, Vinayak; Joshi, Manoj Kumar
Abstract: A research data repository is a location to preserve and store research data virtually. Maintaining
research data in repositories promotes research collaboration opportunities and increases data
transparency. The primary objective of this study is to examine the different research data repositories
in India listed in the Research Data Repositories Registry with their subject coverage, access policies,
data formats, standards & specifications used for implementation. This global registry presents
data in typological classifications like institutional, disciplinary, and multidisciplinary projectspecific
repositories.

Title: Role of DOAJ in Promoting Open Access in India
Authors: Dandawate, Vrushali Sainath
Abstract: The Open Access (OA) movement supports online access to scholarly publications, eliminates
financial and legal restrictions, and supports the dissemination of knowledge. Open access is not a
new concept for Indian researchers. Still, there is some gap in the open access movement in India.
Open access journals are growing in India, but many are questionable publications, and researchers
are sending their papers to such journals. Many times, researchers are not able to identify the
correct journal for their paper publication. The major goal of this study is to evaluate the role of
DOAJ in the corpus of knowledge made by scholarly publications published between 2003 and
2022. Worldwide recognized database DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) was analyzed for
this research study. Open access publishing demonstrates how the world of knowledge is dynamic.
India has significantly contributed to the growth of knowledge with its 326 open access journals.
DOAJ ambassador and other OA advocates are also trying for promoting open access in India

Title: Research Data Management through Research Data Repositories in the field of Computer Sciences
Authors: Prashar, Prerna; Chander, Harish
Abstract: The present study described the research data repositories landscape all over the globe briefly. The
main objective of the paper is to describe and analyse the research data repositories indexed in
re3data.org in the subject of Computer Science. About 98 repositories were indexed in re3data.org.
These repositories were analysed for country, software, language of the repository, content type,
database access, data access, data upload, data license, policies and metadata standards followed
by these repositories. The result will highlight the position of computer science repositories in the
registry and further provide insights to the repository developer for further research in this area.

Title: Open Science: Global Position and Share of India
Authors: S, Nayanthara; Sulochana, Anila
Abstract: Various movements, such as open access, open data, and open-source software have sought to
address different facets of the crisis in science. While the open science movement has been gaining
momentum in different parts of the world, the movement hasn’t gained due momentum in India. Like
most other parts of the globe, science in India is also facing a severe crisis in various aspects.
Unfortunately, appropriate action has not been taken to address the problem in science in India in
a holistic manner. With the Open Science movement accelerating globally, it is vital to understand
India’s position in formulating and implementing OS initiatives and policies. This article attempts
to map the global position of India in advocating, adopting, and supporting Open Science and to
figure out India’s share in the global Open Science movement.
