(INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, 2022-11) Parihar, Vinod; Sharma, Diksha; Singh, Pramod Kumar; Sharma, Diksha
There are many trends in the library system, such as, Internet of Things; Electronic resource management; cloud computing; federated search, and many others as well. However, the present research focuses on an academic integrity and plagiarism as the current trend in the system of library science. This research discusses the concept of plagiarism: it adopts the approaches of acknowledging, referencing, paraphrasing, and checking plagiarism by using particular software, such as, Ouriginal; Turnitin; and others. Avoiding plagiarism and acknowledging a piece of text leads a researcher towards realizing the academic integrity. METADATA: A TOOL FOR CATALOGUING WEB RESOURCES
(INFLIBNET Centre, 2001-03) Singh, Pramod Kumar
As the Internet became an accepted source of electronic information, a variety of information communities have developed metadata to organize these resources to effectively serve their users. So metadata has taken on a more significant role of knowledge representation and data mining. In today's context, where the web contains the collection of massive heterogeneous objects, which need to be unified and linked in a single resource, we are witnessing both the growth of different metadata standards and the attempts to reconcile the common attributes in the existing overlapping standards. The goal is to access relevant information seamlessly, regardless of its type and location. This article addresses different aspects of metadata, the rationale behind it and gives a general picture of Dublin Core metadata elements.

Towards Advancing Creativity in Libraries Using Natural Language Processing for Data Curation: A Bibliometric Analysis
(INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, 2022-11) Rana, Pooja; Singh, Pramod Kumar
Natural language processing has significantly become one of the most advancing topics in the field of artificial intelligence. Knowing its capabilities of using semantics to extract relevant information from large volumes of data, its applications for data curation are worth exploring. NLP has an increasingly signifying role in different fields; therefore this study aims to examine the research output of the NLP for data curation. For this purpose, a bibliometric study on NLP for data curation is presented and research publications are retrieved from Scopus Database. The network analysis is done using the VOSviewer software. The results have shown an increase in the publication from the year 2014-2021 with an average of 29-30 publications each year. The USA is found to be dominating the field among other countries. Among the most prolific authors,Ananiadou, Vijay-Shanker, and Hirschman lead the list, accounting for 7.63% of the total output. The five main thematic areas identified are natural language processing, human, information processing, information retrieval, and data mining. The bibliometric analysis of NLP for data curation, uncovering the present status, paves the way for future research opportunities in libraries. This study will allow us to explore and understand research developments systematically and optimize libraries by employing NLP models for data curation for effective transmission of data for the end users.
