Item Consortium Based Subscription to e-Journals: A test for the Viability in the city of Jorhat, Assam(2003) Hazarika, Tilak; Barua, Smriti RekhaItem Impact of Library Collection Towards Doctoral Studies A Case Study on Citation Analysis of PhD Dissertations in the School of Science & Technology in Tezpur University(INFLIBNET Centre, 2010-02-18) Hazarika, Tilak; Sarma, Dipak; Gohain, AnjanImpact of library holdings in terms of physical and online access on the doctoral studies in Tezpur University have been studied based on citation appended to the PhD dissertations in four subjects clubbed under the School of Science & Technology. Two latest dissertations (degree awarded) from each four subjects have been taken for the study selected through systematic sampling method. Category wise distribution of the cited items viz. journals, books & monographs, conference proceedings, electronic sources, web citations and others have been studied. Category wise percentile distribution and availability of cited items in the parent library have been calculated for journals and books followed by preparation of rank list of journals for each four subjects studied. Some well known statistical and bibliometric parameters have been applied for the study. Suggestive approach to re-engineering of collection development policy of the university libraries have been lined up based on the findings.Item Information Exchange of Library Holding in The North Eastern Universities : State of The Art Practices(INFLIBNET CENTER, 2007-12-07) Hazarika, TilakConvergence of technologies has made library and information services across the regional, national and transnational geographic barriers, and reach global users at the ease of time and speed. Developing union catalogues of library holdings is one of the core areas in this regard; which has invited attention for a good number of obvious reasons and objectives. Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) programme of the University Grants Commission (UGC) had launched this noble venture of creating a Union Database of university holding of the country. This study is lined up to have a close look on the State-of-the-Art scenario of the university libraries in the NE region of the country towards accomplishing this venture.Item Mapping Research Contributions of Assam University: A Scientometric Study(INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, 2016-11) Goswami, Rubi; Hazarika, TilakMetrics studies have an important role in understanding the growth of a discipline and assist in designing national policies for implementation and improving. This study is a scientometric study examining the research contribution of Assam University (A.U), Central University in Assam. In this study period, i.e. from 2000 to 2015 the numbers of bibliographic records found were 714. The average output of the organization was 45 publications per year; the peak was 143 items in 2014 and the minimum was 2 items in the year 2000. In the study period, a total of 3172 citations were found for the 714 records.Item Research Publication Trends of the Scientists of Tezpur University: A Scientometric Study(INFLIBNET Centre, 2014-09-25) Goswami, Rubi; Hazarika, TilakBibliographic records of 847 items retrieved from Web of Science were studied and increasing publication trends were seen in Tezpur University (T.U.). The average output of the organization was 60 publications per year; the peak was 200 items in 2012 and the minimum was 4 items in the year 1999. Single authorship publication accounted for 6%, while multi authorship publication of articles accounted for 94 %. The top 22 institutions which collaborated with T.U accounted for about 26% share. It was seen that the publications of T.U received a total of 4763 citations during the period of 14 years.
