dc.description.abstractLocal dailies play an important role in disseminating information pertaining to the various communities of the society at the regional or state level. The present paper aims at examining the contents and coverage of news items in some selected local dailies published in the state of Manipur. With the help of ‘ statistical tools’ an attempt has been made to explore and identify the pattern of the contents selected for the accommodation in some of the columns like Headline, Article and Letter to Editor.en_US
