The paper intends to focus on the preservation of digital resources and challenges, scope of the problem, methods of preservation. Preservation constitutes one leg of a tripod that supports informational institutions such as libraries and other leg being access and the development and management of corrections. Without preservation, access becomes impossible and collections will delay and disintegrate. Digital preservation means the planning, resource allocation and application of preservation methods and technologies necessary to ensure that digital information of continuing value remain accessible and usable.
