dc.description.abstractThe Profile Management system is a web-based tool to organize research activities carried out by a researcher such as interests, skills, experience, expertise, mentor, projects, publications, etc. The profile management system acts as a knowledge management as well as discovery tool for about the researchers, faculty members and scientists of an Institution or across the Institution. This paper examines the Vidwan expert’s database of scientists / researchers and other faculty members of Indian Institutions. INFLIBNET Centre has taken an initiative to develop the Indian Experts Database called Vidwan and now it is available for the public in free of cost to identify the subject experts for the respective fields. The Indian experts database Vidwan has 23000+ experts in various subject’s category. The study focuses on Organizations category wise experts, subject wise experts, experts of state universities of top ten states, experts of top ten TamilNadu State Universities, experts of top ten subjects of Tamil Nadu State Universities and experts by top ten designations of TamilNadu State Universities in Vidwan database.en_US
