| Abstract: | The paper gives an overview of various technologies involved in setting up Local Area Network. Author lists as many as nineteen different technologies used in LAN highlight the features. Attempt has been made bring out the difference between switching and routing technologies. Recent development in the area of networking with an emphasis on Storage Area Networks (SAN) has been discussed. |
