Management and Preservation of AV Materials in TV Media of North Eastern Region : A Case Study

Abstract

The management and preservation of AV(AV) materials in TV(TV) media is a less touched area of Library & Information Science. This paper discusses the management and preservation system of AV materials of 9 (Nine) selected TV media libraries of North Eastern Region. The tape formats used, staff strength, accessioning, classification, cataloguing, automation, preservation techniques etc. are discussed. Some problems have been identified and probable suggestions are put forth.
