Security threat perception to a Digital Library

Abstract

Internet technology has benefited the users of research and development library by providing effective and quick sharing of global information resources. Crime on the net has also increased with the growth of Internet. For smooth operation of net, the need-of-the-hour is to deploy a system that is ready for the worst and which, anticipates problems (internals and externals) before they occur. It should also be able to cope up when the net is down. This paper describes some major security threats with respect to Internet. It also discusses some security measures for managing and maintaining the local network.
