Information technology opens up the whole world of knowledge and allows teaching and
learning to take place beyond the traditional boundaries and resources of the school. The
paper discusses e-education in India. Though information technology is at its great speed
still some steps and efforts needed at various levels for providing e-education. The global
scenario shows the invading role of information and communication technologies into
education sector so it is necessary to adopt technologies for education in India also. The
