The library service is more technology based as times goes. In today’s context mobile based service
is very demanding for the libraries. The use of Tablet PC’s application can fulfill the changing
demand of the patron of the libraries. This service is already adopted by the some libraries of Western
World. The Akash Tablet computer helps the Indian libraries for serving the patron in modern way.
The Akash is very cheap and marketed by the Govt. of India gives the ample opportunity to the
college libraries to adopt modern service of library. This article highlights the various features and
function of Akash Tablet and its scope in the libraries. The e-resource and institutional repository
can be handled very easy and cost effective way through Akash tablet. |
