Abstract:
Institutional repositories represent an historical and tangible embodiment
of the intellectual life and output of an institution. These are now clearly
and broadly being recognized as essential infrastructure for scholarship in
the digital world. The paper seeks to provide an overview of Institutional
repositories its benefits to the institutions and also describes the role of
library in building an Institutional repository.
