Abstract:

Describes the emergence of Subject Information Gateways as the pathways for finding
and accessing authentic and scholarly digital information sources and other resources
in different media and formats that are available on the Internet. Highlights the role and
significance of Subject Information Gateways in the present era of chaotic proliferation
of information on the Internet. Draws attention to the prospects and challenges confronting
the library and information profession, and suggests some methods that can be
adopted by library and information professionals for promoting the use of Subject Information
Gateways. |
