Abstract: In era of knowledge based economy and globalization of world economy, a new opportunity has been emerged as a management issue within the spectrum of information management, information technology, artificial intelligence, expert system, semantic web, neural network, cognitive sciences, mathematics and management theory, economics and recently Cloud Computing. This study tries to give a different perspective of the cloud application through a knowledge management perspective and its structure in the cloud computing environment. In recent years, there has been a great hype about cloud computing and different books and literature reviews have classified different types of cloud with various definitions and criteria focusing on mainly three different layers of services being infrastructure, platform and software. The benefit of cloud computing is supply of services anytime, anywhere device-agnostic access. This paper provides a metaobservation over an integrated cloud ecosystem through the knowledge window. Achieving Knowledge Management through Cloud Computing has expanded new insights, vision and practices. This article critically evaluates ways to achieve knowledge management though cloud computing. Abstract: Digital resource has emerged as complementary and substitute to printresource. But electronic has become vital source of information. MICA KEIChas experience in handling various electronic resources; it requiresinitiatives and interest to know new things. Subscription management requires continuous tracking to know that along with print subscription library will get free access to electronic journals, with little premium or to pay full subscription. This helps for retrospective searches. Association membership gives the benefits of free subscription and access to electronic resources. Commercial database has got high subscription cost but access to resources from retrospective dates. Electronic resources are cheaper because of aggregator but challenges lies with the librarian for an optimum use of resources subscribed by library. Abstract: Knowledge is widely recognized as a critical organizational resource irrespective of economic sector or type of organization. Abstract: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are simultaneously the cause and the effect in the growth of knowledge. For this reason, they play an important role in Knowledge Management (KM) but do not constitute a panacea and their establishment must be accompanied by determining actions on the part of management. Unlike some choices of implementation solutions, the selection of Knowledge Management( KM) tools cannot make do with a compartmentalized classification according to the functions of the software. It is more a question of relying on a global vision of the organization rather then focusing on software categories that are not always stripped in effects. This vision must be connected to an infrared image, pointing to knowledge flows as well as to obstacles to their diffusion, from which optimization, classical domains, these solutions must be based on organizational, human and sometimes technological actions, build with coherence. Abstract: Though literature on information and knowledge management is vast, there is much confusion concerning the meaning of these terms. According to the literature review, technology-oriented information management includes data management, information technology management and strategic information technology management. The main emphasis of these approaches is the effective and efficient use of information technology. In contrast, content-oriented approaches focus on information and its use. They can be distinguished in records management, provision of external information, human-centered information management, and information resources management. The reading of the literature on knowledge management reveals that this term is either used synonymously for information management or for the management of work practices with the goal of improving the generation of new knowledge and the sharing of existing knowledge. This article identifies various aspects that are embraced by the terms information and knowledge management. Abstract: Institutional Repositories (IRs) are a visible manifestation of the emerging importance of Knowledge Management (KM) in higher education. Paradoxically, “scholarly respect for knowledge and a desire to ensure academic freedom make most institutions reluctant to manage knowledge of any sort”. This paper explains the concept of Institutional Repository (IR) and brings out the definitional analysis of IR definitions. Briefly describes the initiatives taken towards building IRs. States the logical Principles of IR and emphasizes its significance in Academic and Research Institutions. Further highlights the benefits in developing IRs. Explains the availability of free and fee software in the design and development of IRs and enumerates features of each software.
