Abstract:

The present paper discusses the importance of manuscript collection and the necessity to preserve it for the future research and references. It highlights on the existing precious manuscript collection of Jayakar library. The paper tries to convert document in the digital form to preserve and maintain it. More emphasis is given on conversion of Marathi manuscripts available in the Jayakar library. It also discusses various methods of capturing data and its advantages and disadvantages. The central theme of the paper is to find out, how much space is required to store one image in various file formats likebitmap, tif and jpeg, which may act as a guideline for preservation and maintenance of manuscripts.

Abstract:

Discusses the trend and the need for the transformation of traditional library collections from print into digital form. The concept of Hybrid Library is also briefly presented. Migration as preservation strategy is discussed. The influence of technological innovations on migration of digital collections is also discussed. Different risk factors involved in migrating the digital data from one media and format to another are highlighted.

Abstract:

Content Management is a key issue in most of the enterprises. This paper describes the Concept of Content Management, enumerates the types and formats. Web Content Management helps institutes or companies to maintain and manage Websites to allow IT, Web Developers, marketing, costumers support, human resources and others to add or modify content in a secure, controlled way. Content contributors are empowered to regularly update web content without compromising Website quality.
